What: A music information and sales service - Mobiquid wished to offer end users the chance to request songs heard on the radio using an IVR service and then directly receive all the information about the singer and title via SMS. Users can then go on to purchase the single or album containing the track via SMS or to send a musical message to their friends from a selection on Mobiquid’s website. Mobileway was selected to carry out all the traffic and negotiate the short codes needed for the info alerts and the distribution of the music clips across all mobile networks in France, Belgium and Scandinavia.

Why: To offer users the chance to identify and purchase any piece of music playing in the background in a bar/café on the radio and pass on favourite tunes to friends and colleagues.

Outcome: The service runs alongside 18 national radio stations in France and across Scandinavia. Based on the success of the service, Mobiquid is planning to extend it to other territories and is reselling parts of the service to other major new-media players such as Lycos.
